Kick-off of Equipping for Discipleship Groups

Wednesday night and Thursday morning were the kick-offs for the ED groups. It was so encouraging to meet with women in different stages in life. One common link rings true–each woman is praying about opportunities to learn and to serve God by pouring into other’s lives. They are doing this with a little apprehension and a lot of excitement. We will be talking about what it means to disciple others and will be exploring opportunities to do that. Our prayer is for fruit that will last in our own lives and the lives of others for generations to come.
I spend much of my time ministering with young women at the beginning of their adult lives, so it is a joy and new opportunity to fellowship with women who have parented their children to adulthood, weathered and enjoyed years of marriage, and are still learning, growing and seeking Christ. Life is a process without easy answers. Whether 22 or 50, we are learning many of the same lessons as we learn to walk with Christ. With each struggle or hardship or joy, we are learning to die to ourselves and rely on him who is conforming us to his image. It is a gift that we can do it together as a body.
Please pray for these women this semester as we study, share, face our insecurities and trust God . May he be glorified and exalted.
